Questions? Comments? Concerns? Please send them to Jim Carlson
<carlsonj at workingcode.com>.

Items planned for November's meeting:

  - Pilot Workshop Scenarios (A Tiny Slice of IFR)
  - Question Of The Month
  - IFR Focus (ODP Versus VCOA)
  - Insert your item here (suggestions wanted)

Here's the Question Of The Month (don't reply now; come ready to discuss
at the meeting):

You are flying into Wooster, Ohio (KBJJ) on a /G flight plan. You're
at 7 NE of DEHYY when you get an unexpectedly simple clearance:

    "Cleared RNAV RWY 28 approach."

What do you do? Where do you go from here? And why?

Will you miss this month's meeting? If so, please consider attending
Steve Cunningham's EAA IMC Club Manchester Chapter Meeting at 1830L on
Tuesday, November 21st 2017 in Room 216, Ammon Center, 175 Ammon Dr.,
Manchester, NH 03103. Both meetings are sponsored by National Flight
Simulator.

Either meeting qualifies for 1 WINGS credit as "Basic Knowledge." You
can sign up in advance for the Nashua meeting here:

and the Manchester meeting here:

If you have a spare 135 minutes some time between now and then, consider
listening to this podcast about secondary surveillance RADAR. It's
extremely detailed and likely to tell you something new about how
transponders work, but not very much useful for flying:

Thanks to Josef Sipek for that pointer.

Until the next meeting, fly safely!
