Here are the two sources that I mentioned in the meeting. First, there's
the FAA "From the Flight Deck" series on YouTube:
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5vHkqHi51DSNpsBC8nb8Q8gFcGVmWhGA&si=bMAC5CzI8LPiOK4L
This is a playlist that's part of the FAA's official channel on YouTube.
It contains videos detailing issues and procedures at a number of
mid-size airports. The videos are mostly between 5 and 20 minutes long
and contain a lot of useful information, particularly if you're headed
to one of these airports for the first time. Of course, it's free.
The other is the "IFR: The Missing Lessons" from Pilot Workshops.
https://pilotworkshop.com/training/ifr-missing-lessons/
This is a course that consists of a series of videos, mostly in the
range of 10 to 30 minute long, that cover various topics and suggestions
for things that are not typically covered well in IFR training -- such
as determining performance settings for your airplane, conducting a
visual approach -- plus in-depth scenarios and workbooks.
There's enough material there that it'll at least make you think about
ways to improve your procedures.
