Items planned for tonight's meeting:
- Pilot Workshop Scenario (The Route to Limbo)
- Question Of The Month
- Insert your item here (suggestions wanted)
Here's the Question Of The Month from Radek. If you attended the Nashua
meeting last month, it should look pretty familiar:
The only IMC departure available -- the ODP (Obstacle Departure
Procedure) out of KFIT for runway 32 states to: “climb on 324 heading
until 2600 MSL before turning.” Controlled airspace (E) in this area
starts at 1048 MSL. You filed an IFR flight plan and stated in your
remarks that you are going to be using ODP.
The clearance you get from Bridgeport Radio is "on entering controlled
airspace, fly heading 090" with no mention of the ODP. What are you
expected to do? Immediately turn to 090 on entering controlled
airspace, as directed, at 1048 MSL, or wait until finishing the ODP,
and setting at 2600 MSL? Is statement "on entering controlled airspace
fly heading" a vector – meaning that ATC takes responsibility for
terrain/obstacles clearance at that point?
Will you miss this month's meeting? If so, please consider attending
Steve Cunningham's EAA IMC Club Manchester Chapter Meeting at 1830L on
Tuesday, April 16th 2019 in Suite 103, Ammon Center, 175 Ammon Dr.,
Manchester, NH 03103. Both meetings are sponsored by National Flight
Simulator.
