Used aircraft sources

As I mentioned I have been looking high and low over the past year to try to
find a good used airplane at a comfortable price. Sort of like the search
for the Holy Grail. Here are a couple of folks (companies) with good
reputations who are specialists at refurbishing aircraft.

Gary Estes is presently working on a Cardinal (177) that will total $60k
when he is finished. It's in paint now. I don't know the details but could
certainly find out. Take a look at the one he just sold for $42k - a 1968
model. I didn't buy it because it was only 150 hp . 1968 was first model
year for the 177 and later years are 180-200 hp.

personal favorite.

Here's another outfit that does quality work.
http://www.skywagons.com/3712v.html They have a couple of great looking
Hawk XPs - 195 hp, constant speed prop. A souped up 172. I like these, too.
The K engine is the better one.

And this McKinney, Texas company is well known for the great job they do on
low wing Pipers - like this Archer II
http://www.trade-a-plane.com/clsfdspecs/821691 Before you ask, the blond
does not come with the plane. Don't know about pricing but we can assume it
is up there for a tricked out Archer fully rehabbed. Bill will like this
one. They always have a good inventory.
